Faerie light is a mini-quest to transform high levels of karma into a shining staff. This staff is one of the two options for Sa san's Trial of Dedication.
The other option is to create a Staff of the Elements, which is a long quest, but won't sacrifice karma. It\s unknown how much karma is needed to be eligible for a Faerie light. It is known to be somewhere between Angel's tear karma and Angel karma. Beware that by forging a Faerie light you will be sacrificing a huge amount of karma, some people went from Angel's tear back to cat, while the minimum someone with Angel's karma got was around Ox or Bear karma.
To begin the quest follow the following steps:
Go to a librarian in any kingdom and say "Faerie light". Make sure you have a very high karma. Something between Angel tear and Angel karma.
If you have Angel karma you're good, but low level of angel tear won't work, as shown below:
If you have sufficient karma they'll ask you what do you want to know about. Choose "How to make one".
Read until the end until you get confirmation that you've learned about the staff.

Grab an Angel's tear and Go the Great Tree in the Wilderness (155,005).
Drop a Angel's Tear next to the Wood plant.
You'll get a prompt asking to keep your karma or claim a Faerie light. By choosing "yes" you'll sacrifice a lot of karma and get a Faerie light item.
