The lower level Three non-leveled room with Sonhi troops and ambushes - Deeper Sonhi Hideout (returns to upper level) - Sonhi Hideout Storage - Sonhi Command Post

For his picture BabyBoy invited his staff showing up for a moment of group activity at the Royal reception hall. Event Walkthrough - Sonhi Hideout
Posted
by: Ferro
-- 11:43 AM EST
|
Here is the Walkthrough for the Sonhi Insurgents event. There are two quests you can do, but first you need to enter their secret hideout.
Entering the Hideout:
- Go to KaMing's Encampment. Buy a Long spear from Gan's Shop. Enter KaMing ((22, 11)) and click through all of KaMing's dialog. Say hideout to receive Sonhi helm, Sonhi armor, and KaMing pass.
- Go through the Kugnae Rat Cave and try to enter the hideout at the end. Make sure you are only wearing the Long spear, Sonhi helm, and Sonhi armor. Your Kaming pass will be taken. You will also receive a legend mark for entering the hideout, Located the Sonhi Hideout in Kugnae. You may want to buy some Hideout talismans from the Insurgent Commander in the first room of the hideout.
Helping with HaggardWitch Escape:
- There are two quests you can do in this event. The first one requires grabbing a Hideout key dropped by one of the Sonhi Executioner bosses who spawns at the level cave part of the event which consists of two very large areas: Sonhi Hideout Base and Sonhi Hideout Pits.
- Once a key is obtained take it the end of the Sonhi Hideout tunnels beneath the old sewers corridors and walk until you reach the Hideout Stockade. There you'll find HaggardWitch. Give the key to her and she'll reward you with a new sub-accessory according to your level. Fighters (warriors and rogues) get a Combat badge sub-accessory appropriate to their level and casters (mages and poets) get a Magic rune type of accessory.
Click here to check the stats of these new sub-accessories. NOTE: The new sub-accessories are BOD. You have been warned.
Help Protect Koguryo or supply weapons to Sonhi Insurgents: This quest requires siding either with Koguryo and KaMing in the defense of their kingdom or siding with KaKhan and the Insurgent Sonhi troops. The choice of who you help won't change any prizes, but there's a score of how many each side helped.
Option A: A1. To side with Koguryo you'll need to use creation system (ctrl+i) to create Disabled explosives. The formula to create those is [Sonhi explosive (1) + Neutralizing reagent (1) + Difuser box (1)]. The Sonhi explosives are dropped by Sonhi insurgents at the leveled Hideout Base and Hideout Pit. The Neutralizing reagent can be bought from the tiger in Geomancer's House of Chi. The difuser box can be bought from the scholar the in Chongun's Strategy Academy. + + =
A2. Once you have enough Disabled explosives, go to the Kugnae Palace and go through the door immediately to your right upon entering the courtyard. Click through all of Koguryo Commander's dialog then say 'Disabled explosives'. He will take all of the Disabled explosives you have in your inventory and will grant you the blue legend mark "Disabled X Sonhi explosives".
NOTE: If you side with Koguryo you can skip the long trip through the corridors to turn in the key by going back to the Insurgent Commander with only the Sonhi gear equipped and try clicking him. He will notice you've helped Koguryo and sent you to the same jail cell the HaggardWitch is being kept. Credit to Genrou for the tip!
Option B: B1. To side with the Sonhi Insurgents you'll need to create some Weapon crates through Creation system (ctrl+i). The formula to create those is [Wooden crate (1) + Steel saber (1) + Steel sword (1) + Long spear (1) + Shatter bombs (2) + Stealth Explosives (2)]. The wooden crates can be bought from the KaMing's Encampment messenger. The Long spears can be bought Gan's Shop there too. The Steel saber and Steel sword can be bought from any blacksmith. The stealth explosives are bought at the Buya Arena and the Shatter bomb can be bought at the Kugnae Arena. + + + + + =
B2. Once you have enough Weapon crates, go to the Sonhi Hideout entrance. The fastest way to return there is by using a Hideout talisman you bought from the Sonhi Insurgent Commander. Click through all of the Insurgent Commander's dialog then say 'Weapon crate'. He will take all of the Weapon crate you have in your inventory and will grant you the red legend mark "Supplied x weapon crates to the Sonhi Insurgents".
NOTE: If by any chance you side with Koguryo or with Sonhi Insurgents and then changed your mind you can reset this quest start over with the other side. To do that simply say "I changed my mind" to either the Koguryo Commander or the Insurgent Commander.

Server Reset - Memorial Day Weekend Event
Posted
by: Ferro
-- 10:25 AM EST
|
Earlier today the Nexus servers were reset and introduced a new event for the Memorial day weekend. The event continues the saga against the Stygian Order but reintroduces an old enemy of the kingdoms. KaKhan is back and with a devilish plan: to blow up Kugnae!
The event began last night with a series of accusations exchanged between KaKhan and KaMing. After then, the Sonhi leader decided to post a warning to King Muhyul and to the Koguryians about how his brother KaKhan has been stocking on explosives to destroy the city from the old sewers.
BOARD TITLE: Chronicles of the Winds FROM: KaMing DATE: 5/22 SUBJECT: Heed my Warning Mhul and the citizens of Koguryo,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that your kingdom is in grave danger. KaKhan seized control over an old hideout we used to maintain in the sewers of Kugnae and has been plotting to destroy the city from underneath.
Although my brother and I rarely agreed on how to handle disputes with enemies, this time he is willing to cross a line that should never be crossed. KaKhan allied himself to that Stygian Order and is driving decisions moved by a vengeance that should have withered long ago.
This decision is one he took on his own and does not represent the will or the character of the Sonhi people. To avoid retaliation on our people I withdrew most of our troops from our Encampment. I urge your people to not attack the remaining ones who are just protecting the rest of our people. As a sign of good faith, I'm willing to assist with stopping KaKhan's undertaking and help you fight the insurgents that betrayed me and decided to follow him. I'll be in my room on the Encampment.
Let's work together to avoid a massacre of innocent people.
KaMing |
It can be quite a strange thing to picture KaMing working alongside with Koguryo. The last time he attempted to claim some peaceful approach was when he tricked the kingdom so he could retrieve the body of his brother. Is his concern genuine this time or is he attempting another move?
The Whispering Winds post makes it seem like the brother's fight is for real. Time will tell. Right now there are other things more urgent for people to work on, such as preventing the destruction of Kugnae.
BOARD TITLE: Whispering Winds FROM: KaMing DATE: 5/23 SUBJECT: KaKhan's Undertaking The leader of the Sonhi tribe feels betrayed by his brother. KaMing sent a note to King M'hul of Koguryo alerting of the dangerous undertaking that KaKhan is planning: to destroy Kugnae. Vengeance is a dangerous thing. It can consume a man's soul to the point when he knows longer can see right or wrong. With new alliances being formed, the Stygian Order grows stronger every day. With KaMing sending scouts to track his brother down a sibling's battle starts to emerge.
Now if people could only find out why KaKhan abducted the HaggardWitch. |
People still don't know why HaggardWitch was kidnapped, but at least At least now the mystery of who took her was unveiled.

Diviners' Augury Visions - New Event on the Horizon
Posted
by: Vini
-- 9:20 PM EST
|
Earlier today, three members of the Diviner Order shared concerning Augury visions they had of the near future events. Such visions were disclosed at the Chronicles of the Winds board by Prophet Celindon, Clairvoyant Asoma, and Oracle Milana, the elder of the subpath.
As it's known by many, augury visions are a form of premonition that only happen when major events are about to come. While their visions tend to be a bit blurry and carried with much symbolism, the study of certain patterns within the diviners notes can help provide us with a more clear understanding of what's about to happen and therefore prepare in advance to face whatever adversities may come our way.
Here are the copies of their notes:

~ ~ She throws her magics against the Grizzly ~ ~ It freezes in place as she exhales ~ ~ The vision slams into her, flinging her body to the ground
My inner eye shows me:
A dark and narrow corridor.
A putrid scent envelopes my nostrils.
I trip over piles of stocked up flash powder. A far-out battle cry echoes in my ears.
Spears fall at my feet as they are burried in the ground.
Flames emerge under my feet.
A whisper tells me that the good witch is locked up in the dark.

BOARD TITLE: Chronicles of the Winds FROM: Milana DATE: 5/21 SUBJECT: Augury Vision
I was nodding off under the Tree of Reflections as usual when I felt a blast of heat wash over me. So hot that I could feel my skin burning. So painful, that I blacked out. When I opened my eyes I found myself in a dark tunnel. A tunnel that was so dark that I had to rely on my smell and touch. The smell... reminded me of what a Barbarian smells like when they get wet - putrid.
I put my hand on the wall and walked in a direction that I hoped would lead me out. Eventually, I did come into a place with torches where I could see pouches stacked up. Thousands of pouches! And it smelled like brimstone. Explosives? I flashed back to the stories of how the walls of Buya fell...
Contemplating what to do next, I heard the shouting of warriors in the distance and what heard like arrows or spears plinking off the earth. The plinking noises got louder, and louder... until I felt an arrow pierce my chest! Looking down I could see that blood was running down my gown and I was feeling faint. I clutched my chest and looked into the darkness from where I came only to see a woman dressed in white with shackles on her wrists and legs. I reached out to her, with a look of desperation in my eyes... just to watch flames erupt from the ground blocking her from me.
I passed out.
Only to wake up under the Tree of Reflections.
There is something ominous coming. The Stygian Order has breached our walls and something is lurking underneath. Who is the woman? Will she be our savior? Will she bring our end...?

BOARD TITLE: Chronicles of the Winds FROM: Asoma DATE: 5/21 SUBJECT: Augury Vision
As I walked the halls of The Forsaken this evening, the familiar corridors felt somehow mustier than usual, the floorboards creaking in unexpected spots and the torchlight dancing around the corners at strange angles.
I found myself losing track of time, heading instinctively to the library, as I so often do on my midnight strolls. Or was it the armory? I tried to turn my thoughts back to how I got here and what I came for, but my thoughts looped around upon themselves, struggling for any clear memory with which to find purchase. Three turns left, and two to the right, the halls narrowing and growing darker - the scent of black powder assaulted my nostrils. Haphazard heaps - careless - all about my feet.
A cry, the clashing of metal behind me - I turn and run to see what the noise is about, and with each step I feel the floor grow hot. Streaking orange flames through the cracks. Just as I feel soles of my feet blister and peel, a flash in the darkness. Old magic, sealed below, longing to see the light again.
I blink a few times as images swirl in my head. I am on my back, in my study, a toppled pile of scrolls beside me. My friend Cardboard is bent over me, worry written on his face. He helps me up and the world begins to regain its balance.
I ask everyone in the kingdoms to remain vigilant. Our resolve is sure to be tested in the coming days, and we will need to stand strong in the face of what awaits us.

Gettin' Stygian With It
Posted
by: Maron
-- 1:35 AM EST
|
Hey folks!
As many of you know, the Kingdoms of Buya, Koguryo and Nagnang have been dealing with slayings (PK death) caused by forces that were first encountered throughout Frozen Fortress. These vengeful cultists are mostly hidden in the shadows, but when apparent will engage in hit-point-based combat; 30-70 hits (swing or zap), depending on the Stygian's stature, to defeat them.
On Tuesday night, while various militia defended their own, Queen Lasahn, with Buya advisors and soldiers, initiated an expedition to the Arctic with hope of thwarting the Stygian Order's plans by a search-and-rescue of the Dark Hunters Hwasal and Sanyang. Queen Yun with Koguryo advisors and soldiers, and General dee with Royal Guard of Nagnang, among many other citizens, joined the campaign.
<- Click to expand <- Click to expand
In order to journey through the Frostlands, Lasahn called on the mystical Swordsman Dojin to reopen the portal HaggardWitch had been holding for us.
Once inside the Glacial Forest, General BloodOfThor and Luminary Hrtlvr volunteered to scout the northwest path while the majority of the party continued northeast. The two could not find a way to cross the Freezing River. Meanwhile in Frozen Woods the party found Sanyang, who urged them to find Hwasal.
While trekking through the relatively normal wildlife in the Frostlands, our party encountered some Stygian agents in Frozen Pond's Way, preventing access to Ice Crystal Lake (in addition to some Floracades).
Once the way was cleared, Taiisrhaa was discovered partly submerged and freezing to death in the lake! There were more cultists to fight here as well. After a short battle, the Queens navigated through the crowd to come to the (former) Taal'yeein Prince's aid.

As Taiisrhaa seemingly became well enough to return home, Lasahn heard a cry from Hwasal, and urged the party to continue. This led the party to scramble through the remaining pathways unto Chillbreath Hills, where Stygian forces had staged an elaborate defense.
Overcoming this and reaching the summit and the gateway to Frozen Fortress, Queen Lasahn bolstered the party to proceed and make a daring rescue of Hwasal within.
Little did they know what evil was on display. Conjurer Wiyae revealed that the imprisoned elemental imps were being converted into lackeys of the Stygian Order! These and gruesome aberrations and numerous Archmages and other cultists created hardships, while Wiyae himself periodically cast mass vertigo on everyone present.
Even after all of this, with Wiyae surrounded, the Conjurer pointed out the flaw in this campaign: Buya was vulnerable! The Necromancer Jieut had summoned kangsee within the Palace, while even more Stygian cultists stormed much of the city.
Some were exhausted from the expedition, while others persevered, and soon enough all of the Stygian threats had been quelled for the evening. Queen Lasahn commended everyone for their commitment to the "patrol" and reminded us that HaggardWitch is still waiting to be rescued!

So after all this nonsense, I guess the war continues!

The Stygian Order is attacking the kingdoms
Posted
by: Vini
-- 10:25 AM EST
|
Ever since the HaggardWitch was mysteriously kidnapped at the Arctic Village there has been multiple ambushes from the Stygian Order around the kingdoms.
Beware of walking alone around Buya, Kugnae and Nagnang as there has been multiple reports of people being attacked by Stygian archers, Stygian Assassins and even Archmages.
There has been no official note by King M'hul of Koguryo, Queen Lasahn of Buya or King ChaeRi of Nagnang about these sudden invasions and how they'll respond to this new threat. It seems Mupa, Jieut and their allies are not going to give up any time soon so stay safe and avoid sleeping outdoors.

Trouble in the Arctic Lands
Posted
by: Vini
-- 11:57 PM EST
|
Things seemed calm in the Kingdoms of the Winds during this Mother's Day Sunday, but the day did not end well for one of the most famous Nexus mothers. While the community was celebrating the newest Poet achieve to achieve Sam san, everyone was surprised with a mysterious sage by the HaggardWitch.
"Who are you people?" "Hey! What do you think you're doing??" "Get your hand off me!" "Nooo. Get away from me!"
Those were the last words we heard from HaggardWitch. By the time people were able to reach the Arctic Village she was already gone; abducted.
Here is a copy of the Whispering Winds board records of this event:
BOARD TITLE: Whispering Winds FROM: NexusTK DATE: 5/10 SUBJECT: Haggard Witch's Abduction
Many weeks passed since the battle against the Stygian Order reached its pinnacle. Until now HaggardWitch was still helping by providing her magic powers to sustain the warp taking people from the Arctic Village to the Glacial Forest. This all changed when HaggardWitch was mysteriously kidnapped. With that, the warp to the Glacial Forest suddenly stopped working and Sanyang and Hwasal were left marooned without communication in the Frozenlands.
Meantime, after suffering significant losses in their numbers, the fanatic cult of Mupa followers prepare to infiltrate the kingdoms and strike from the shadows. The roads of Koguryo, Buya, and Nagnang are no longer safe. Beware of walking alone. |
All shreds of evidence would seem to point to the Stygian Order being behind all this since those are the enemies the HaggardWitch and the Dark-Hunters Guild have been fighting off the past months. However, a sonhi fan found at the scene might point out to another direction.
Some keen eyes noticed a familiar name appearing on the top of the warrior list: KaKhan. It has been years since we last saw that name appear in the lands, and while there could be a coincidence that there was a Sonhi fan nearby the scene, there are those who won't believe this was a coincidence at all.
With HaggardWitch gone, so is the portal linking the Arctic Village to the Glacial Forest. The Stygian talismans continued to work for a while, but their power has also faded away with time.
Sanyang and Hwasal seem to be stranded in the Frozen Woods with no information of what happened and no way to return. The Barbarian Elder SkoGul also claims that her husband Taiishraa is lost in the snow lands while looking for Suvola and whispered to her that he was "freezing".
So many implications coming out of this. HaggardWitch kidnapped, the Dark-Hunters stranded and the Taal'yeein Prince missing.

More Information on Beltane:
Beltane, the third festival, marks the time of adolescence and early adulthood. Flowers are blooming and plants are sprouting in the fields. Bees pollinate aromatic blossoms. Spring has officially sprung, and the forests are teeming with life. This festival is named for Baal or Bel, called "the bright one". Baal is the adolescent form of Sun King.
Many bonfires are burned on Beltane; over these fires those hoping for a child or good fortune would jump. All of the Elements are honored: the marriage of Earth and Sky, the life-giving Waters, and the purifying and protecting Fire. There is singing, dancing and feasting around the maypole which symbolizes the union of the God and Goddess.
This is a time of great fertility of both man and earth. It was customary for young lovers to spend the night in the forest. Handfasting, a service provided by the Druids, also takes place during Beltane. A quiet walk in meditation and reflection along a nature trail or in a quiet place in the evening marks the close of this Festival.
