Ascension of a new primogen for Phoenix - TheRighteous
|
Today marks a new era for the Phoenix clan of Buya. DaMana places the trust of the clan to TheRighteous. May everyone thank DaMana for his contribution to the clan before and best wishes to TheRighteous leading forward.
With the celebration of the ascension, Kydra and AzulSol receive new titles in the clan also. Kydra is now the Fire primarch and AzulSol is the Wind primarch.
A message from DaMana:
When I became Primogen I had a lot of dreams, such as fixing: issues with past updates, broken clan apparatus, missing clan property, clan R.P., community activity, clan history, and relations with the crown.
I find those to be such important issues and thought I was making the right effort.
My dreams have not come to completion, they in fact have been more like a nightmare.
In the process of attempting to fix things in Phoenix clan I have surely made a few enemy. This is a sad realization for me. I had intentions to make friends and have in some cases failed and became somewhat contentious. For that I do pity anyone I may have offended. I do not enjoy having to be pugnacious in defense of my home.
TheRighteous has shown great devotion to Phoenix Clan for many yuri's and he will lead Phoenix clan into a new era, what the future holds I can not say. For me the Primogen position has been both real fun, and a real let down. I have to thank Phoenix Kindred for the fun part! We have such great members here in Phoenix Clan!
Phoenix Pride!
To all the other leaders in the community I have to say, I feel sorry for you all. It is quite difficult to make forward motion with the current methods available.
I have as well, found clear conflict with the crown and my values. This kind of conflict is not healthy for a clan under the subjugation of said crown.
As I am a Druid I would like to let you all know I don't believe in luck, it is odds and random chance. This is what some call luck. Well odds are that Phoenix clan will be much better off without me as their leader at this time, and there is a chance for things to improve and that is what we all want.
I hold no grudges and look forward to the new era to come.
So this is not good bye all. I will continue to look fondly on all of you and look forward to reading the news of your future adventures.
In closing I want to recognize Guerrund for his great devotion, support and record keeping. Sweetaction for helping with record keeping of engraves. they both set good examples of leadership and make great role models.

Repost: Making Colored Valentines

Don't forget you can also send the folks nearest and dearest to your heart a Valentine! Here's how:
Visit the Old man/Shaman in Buya (014,133) and receive a “Valentine Ribbon”.
Take this “Valentine Ribbon” to Dashae in Kinungs (082,072) and she will turn it into a Pink Valentine.
Note: If you wish to have any color besides Pink, you may skip the above steps and simply purchase a song or poem from the Baek shop in Koguryo (017,012) and bring it to the Muse in Buya Islets (051,005) and she'll simply trade your song/poem for a Valentine of your choice.
c) Take your beautiful “Valentine” to the messenger in Buya, Paryu (096,130) and use the option “Valentine Delivery”, it costs 5,000 gold coins to send.
Note: If you send using regular delivery, the Valentine will NOT show whom it was from!

Valentine's Event - Complete Walkthrough ((Repost))

It's time for a brand-new Valentine's Day event and here you can find the most complete and illustrative walkthrough for the 'Folk Tale of Love' quest.
The quest involves helping a scholar from Paekjae named Nabihye who came to Nagnang to study the butterfly phenomenon that occurs in our lands. She is which is located inside Nagnang Library.
1) Go to Nagnang at 082,028 and enter the Nagnang Palace. Cross the whole palace courtyard and enter the big doors on the top right located at 035,002. There you'll find Nabihye.
2) Click Nabihye to initiate the conversion and type your name when prompted and hear what she has to say. She believes the butterflies might be related to an old folk legend about Kyunwoo and Gikyeo.
3) Therefore, say "folk legend" to continue the conversation with her. She asks if we haven't heard about it yet and clearly, we haven't. She seems surprised that people in our lands don't know about it yet and mocks the fact we don't read legends in the libraries enough. She gives a summarized version of the story and asks us to read about it and come with items that would represent each of them: Kyunwoo and Gikyeo.
4) It seems that after hearing from Nabihye, the Spirit Guide Yondung has decided to help us by posting a more detailed version of the legend of Gikyeo and Kyunwoo titled as ' The bridge over the Silver River'. It's a long, but interesting legend, which seems to be famous in Paekjae, Han, Ilbon, Shilla and all other kingdoms around us. And well, now it should get known here too. If you're curious to learn more about it buy a Legend scroll at Nagnang Library or any other library like Buya Library or Kugnae Library. It costs 2,000 coins.
5) After reading the legend (or not) you can say either "Gikyeo" or "Kyunwoo". Both options work. She'll peek at your inventory and look for items. Most items we bring she'll say are not the item she is looking for, not even the Kruna Item Shop items themed after Gikyeo or Kyunwoo. However, if you bring a piece of wool (1) and a beef (1), she will seem a bit disappointed with our choice but will accept it. The wool represents Gikyeo being 'the weaver girl' and the beef represents Kyunwoo being a cowherd. It's unknown if there are others she might accept as these didn't seem the items she was originally hoping to see, but they work, and we'll move forward with that. They might not be the items deserved, but the items we need. Nabihye does take some time to make fun of us using walkthroughs by asking if we had read the legend or if we just brought the items because we were told to by others.
6) After she takes the wool and beef, she says she may make a barbecue back in Paekjae will all the meat she's receiving. She then sets us for a new challenge if we are serious about studying the matters of the heart. So, say "Heart" to continue on. She'll now set a real challenge. To bring Chocolate hearts and Red candy boxes to her. By "some" she means 50 of each.
  
7) Go around the kingdoms saying "I love you (color) butterfly" and hope they drop the Chocolate hearts and Red candy boxes for you. However, if they end up dropping Chocolate cake or Valentine chocolate don't panic. Those are very useful hunting items.
Chocolate cake refills 100% of your vita and Valentine Chocolate refills 100% of mana. If they drop Valentine flower then well... you can wield it. Rumor is that wielding one reduces the chance of the butterflies dropping more.
  
8) Bring the Chocolate hearts (50) and Red candy box (50) to her and she'll finally ask you want to formally help her with her research. Say "I want to help" to join her efforts then. She'll mention there is a flock of magpies flying the Mountain range at the northeast of Nagnang. However, to reach the birds we'll need to create a magical winged-trinket.
She then reveals a formula of how to forge the trinket through creation system:
a. a couple of delicate flowers = 2 Fragile roses 
b. an oceanic ornament fixed on the center = 1 Pearl charm 
c. a few "things" needed to ascend = 4 Bird wings 
d. something special to enchant the whole thing together = 1 Magical dust 
She explains that once we have the trinket we need to go to the mountains and drop it around until we find an updraft wind.
9) It's now time to take your recently created Magical winged-trinket to the Mountain Range located at the northeast of Nagnang coords 140,005.
Drop the trinket on the floor in one of the 5 areas of the Mountain range until you get a popup saying you found an updraft. Once you get this popup your Magical winged-trinket will fly and a Kyunwoo's tear will fall. Put it on your inventory.
10) Go back to Nabihye in the Nagnang Library and say "Tear". She'll give her final speech thanking you for helping with her research and will take your Kyunwoo's tear. Before that, she makes a last question and in this part you really need to pay attention because once you make a choice there's no turning back.
Nabihye asks if you believe in eternal love or not. If you choose that you believe you'll get a legend mark that says "Believes in eternal love". If you choose that you do not believe in it you'll get a mark that says "Does not believe in eternal love".
 - OR - 
Despite the mark choice you make, you'll also get the event completion mark saying that you "researched a folk tale of love".
You'll also get a new necklace item, the first set of gender-based necklace in Nexus.
If you're a female, you'll get a Gikyeo locket. 
If you're a male, you'll get Kyunwoo locket. 
Both have the same stats, but different colors. Their stats are:
+1 Will, +1 Grace +1 Wisdom +30 Regen. Any class, but the minimum level to wear it is 50.
That's all! If you reached here it means you've concluded the event quest!

Late night server reset - Valentine's Day Event has begun

Welcome your most loved butterflies as the season of Valentine's has just begun in the lands of the Winds. Say good bye to the snowmen, the Winter Wonderland and Nightmareland. It's time for a whole new quest involving butterflies and a scholar from Paekjae at Nagnang Library.
It's quite unusual for an event reset to happen on a Sunday night, but who are we to complain. We love when events come, no matter what day or time they arrive. So, go on ahead and check the copy of the Whispering Winds post that introduces the plot of this lovely new adventure about to catch our hearts:

With the help of hundreds of people, the Frost Witch was again defeated, the ancient storms have calmed, and the spring was awakened anew.
Finally, the thick snow has melted, the flowers have begun to bloom, and the leaves started to grow.
Once more people are seeing hundreds of butterflies flying around the lands while searching for spring love. The return of such unique and strange phenomenon has attracted to these lands a sweet-natured scholar from Paekjae.
Nabihye is an enthusiast of folklore and came all the way from Wirye Fortress to study the butterflies and find evidence to her thesis.

Nagnang's history is one of bloodshed

fertile farmlands in the woodlands
in the west, to the rich shoreline
of the south, great powers and
marauding barbarians alike have always
coveted our resources and tried
to take them by force.
Our graveyards are filled with the bodies of those who
have passed in this struggle - some perished brandishing
arms in defense of Nagnang, many were murdered during
many raids and skirmishes of the old days. A lucky few
managed to live out their days without much of a fuss.
They all contributed in one way or another to in making
Magnang grea, and to ensure the peace, prosperity, and
security that we are blessed with today. For this reason,
Nagnang is known as "the land of the dead."
To honor our dead, The Eternal Order of Nagnang observes
the Jesa Rites - sacrifices to the ancestors will be made
from our abundant harvests, which reaffirm the blood
kinship between the living and the dead.
At the Jesa Rites, there will be both solemn gatherings to
honor the ancestors, as well as games for the community to
enjoy that honor the lives and contributions of our
ancestors!

Alizarin Fends Off Attack - New Primogen!
|
Last night, Alizarin fell under attack by the one that calls himself 'Ravens'. During this attack, Alizarin's last line of defense fell and Ravens was able to gain access to the haven against UnSeen.
Ravens demanded that a sacrifice be made - Dee of Alizarin stepped forward and offered her own love of home and family for the sacrifice. As she bid her farewells and left both Alizarin and Nagnang, she placed her clans well-being into Ataraxic's trustful hands as the next Primogen of Alizarin.
This was Dee's Farewell Letter:
"A family is made up of those that would do anything in order to protect each other, no matter the consequences.
Alizarin has been such a family to me. I have felt loved and needed every day since I woke up within these halls in 2011.
The laughter given to me daily from 'sun up till sun down' has been absolutely amazing and I would never change even a minute of it.
Today, I find our home being threatened by the Unseen. I have researched all the scrolls within our many kingdoms in hopes of finding what was needed to protect those living within our walls. I have even sought out the advice of the Diviners.
As you have read, years ago our founders wove a talisman into the very walls of our hall. This talisman was made up of things that each held dear to their heart. The talisman gave strength to the protection of the hall and therefore protected those that resided within the walls. After all these years the talisman has failed. The Unseen are invading the hall and are causing havoc to those that reside within it. I cannot have this happening.
After careful research I have learned that I must give up what is dear to me. My home. The thing that means the most to me. My family. With the tears I shed from this action, the talisman will grow stronger and protect our home once again.
Please know that I will journey to find what can be done so that I may return yet have the protection hold strong. Hold fast the heart of our family. The strength of the Alizarin is the heart we all share with each other.
I have searched long and hard to find the one that would take my place and I feel I have done so with Ataraxic. His love and dedication for our home is very strong indeed. He has the full support of our council. With the support of the rest of the family he will hold strong against all the Unseen of our lands.
Our walls are strong, our doors are unbreakable. The love put in them will hold.

Happy Seollal - The Lunar New Year

As you probably know by now, the Luna new year is always represented by one of the 12 mythic animals and one of the 5 "Wu Xing" elements (earth, fire, metal, water and wood). Today the Kingdoms of the Winds is celebrating its Lunar's New Year with arrival of the Earth Pig year.
Such year is filled with growth and opportunity as previewed by the astrologists from Han Empire. According to them, the Year of the Earth Pig will have a growing optimistic energy which leads to a place of good luck, fortune, and prosperity. For those who able provide comfort and tolerance there's a full road ahead of happiness and plenty of passions in ones life. Curiosity: The last Earth Pig year was in 1959, when Hawaii became the 50th State.
