How to Begin : Gather the items to make a lantern:
Buy Flash dust from the NPC in any town arena (5 coins).
Buy Coal from Gruff Smith (20 coins).
Buy a sheet of White Paper from a messenger's shop (100 coins).
Gather beef from hunting in Mythic Ox or Kugnae Snakes.
Go chop trees or buy Ginko wood from another citizen. You need 1 ginko wood.

Steps :

1. Coal is the first ingredient you need to find to make a lantern. Gruff is the only NPC that sells it and sells the information about how to use it. You can find the Smith Gruff in Sanhae Valley. Go to Arctic Land, exit east from Northern Pass to Sanhae Pass. Exit Sanhae Pass north to Sanhae Valley. Continue to walk north and you'll wind up right in Gruff's smithy.

Walk into Gruff's shop and say "coal" to him.


It only costs 20 coins.


When he asks if you know how to use it, responding "Uhhh..yeah will cost a lot more.


Well it's only money and you DO need to know how to use it.


Rolling your eyes, you wonder if you could have figured that out yourself. Now you wish you'd responded "No, I already know!"



You won't fall for this one again. You know to combine the coal and flash dust to make hot coal. Use the creation system to combine items. Use the Shift key and the letter I to open the creation menu. Add the coal and flash dust then click OK to create a hot coal.




+ = Hot Coal!


2. Once again use the Shift key and the letter I to open the creation menu. Add the beef, hot coal, paper and wood, then click OK to make a Lantern.




+ + + = A Lantern!


3. Equip the lantern to light up the dark areas you may need to pass through.

(1) Coal, (1) Flash Dust, (1) White paper, (1) Beef, (1) Ginko wood and 125 coins
