Hamgyong Council

Back to Quests

Level Required : Ee san

Prerequisite :
Totem crystal
Karma Needed : Not applicable

How to Begin :

Steps :

1. You will need to have a (totem) Radiant crystal to pass through The Gauntlet.

- Mages
- Poets
- Rogue
- Warriors

You must find crystals that Crystal Whisps drop in either the Nngh'Zan's Doorstep or Crystal Whisp caves.

Crystals come in these levels:
1. Faded
2. Dim
3. Pale
4. Glowing
5. Bright
6. Radiant

You will have to combine the crystals to make a Radiant crystal in order to pass through The Gauntlet. You can combine crystals to equal a value of 6 (radiant). Crystals come in White, Blue, Red, Black, Gold, Green and Orange. The first 4 are totem colors and the last 3 are used to enchance the crystals.

The goal is to make a Radiant crystal of your totem color.

Green, Orange and Gold are used to enhance any totem colored crystals.
Green - 1 point
Orange - 2 points
Gold - 3 points

If you add two faded crystals of different colors, you only get one dim crystal.

I found out that if you add two Faded crystals of the SAME color, you get to keep one Faded.
Example:
Faded Red (1) + Faded Red (1) = Dim Red (2), plus one Faded (1).

This means you can add the Dim crystal with the extra Faded, and get a Pale (3).

Pale crystals can then be added with each other to make a radiant (3+3=6). In other words, you can use four faded crystals of the same color to make a radiant. (4 faded = 4 points, but it adds up to a lv 6, nice eh)

If you have two colors (in this case blue):
The 2nd crystal used dictates the color, so...
Pale Red + Pale Blue = Radiant Blue Crystal
OR
Pale Blue + Pale Red = Radiant Red Crystal

Note that you can also make the pale blue crystal using only TWO faded blue crystals.

Summary:
You can make a radiant using only four faded crystals. You can use four faded crystals of the same color, or four faded crystals of two colors (2 reds, 2 blues... 2 blacks, 2 whites... 2 reds, 2 blacks.. etc)

Combination examples are:
Faded white + Orange = Both broke
Glowing red + Glowing white = White broke
Bright red + Faded white = Radiant white
Faded white + Gold = Glowing white
Glowing red + Faded red = Bright red
Bright red + Faded white = Radiant white

A successful result was:
Faded white + green = Dim white
Dim white + Faded blue = Pale blue
Pale blue + Faded red = Glowing red

DarkMaverick
To make my radiant, I did the following combo
Faded color + Gold + Green + Green = Radiant
Gold is only worth 4 and you need a total of 6 points
Gold DOES NOT make it automatically Radiant.
Also, I tried changing the color of a Glowing crystal and it failed, taking my color gem.

A successful result was:
Faded white + green = Dim white
Dim white + Faded blue = Pale blue
Pale blue + Faded red = Glowing red

Kan notes:
The point is to combine two crystals according to their level so that they equal level six. For example, combining a level one crystal with a level five crystal, or a level two with a level four, or a three and another three. You can also merge weaker crystals with each other to make them bigger: level one with one, one with two, one/three, one/four, two/two, and two/three; these would all create a crystal of the fifth-level, or less. If you attempt to combine two crystals, and their total is greater than six, then the second crystal used will break. The second crystal that is used dictates the ultimate color of the merged crystal.

NOTE: This process isn't fully understood yet. You can use someone else's Radiant crystal. If you make your own, start with a Faded crystal. Use the "u" command for the Faded crystal to get a popup allowing you to combine other crystals.

1. Using your Radiant crystal carefully walk through The Gauntlet. It is a good idea to ride a horse. Walk to a Field rift to avoid receiving a PK death which warps you to the southwest corner of the room. Go from Rift to Rift till you reach the northwest exit to Nngh'Zan's Courtyard. The Courtyard has 12 glowing tiles. Only 12 people can enter at one time and they must be grouped. The group leader then needs to click the ogre Uugluk to enter the Hamgyong Council Chamber.

2. You must kill council members by path or they will respawn. All of one path must die before you attack another path type. See types below. Unless your group is very careful you can expect to die many times. It is recommended that you do not wear expensive items!

Strategy: Get each set of creatures to low red, then have the entire group massively attack the set. If you only attack 1 in the set, the others will heal and come back to hurt you badly! Monsters in a set need to die within 30 seconds of each other.

Rogue:
Mages:
Poets:
Warriors:

Now you are ready to take on the mighty Nngh'Zan.
