Past News

Did you miss that important news story? Do you want to read what happened while you were on vacation. Here's where to get that info!

Our news software, Coranto, has a bug which makes it purge links to news articles more than two years old. What is left of programmers who volunteer their time to support this software do not know why this bug occurs. We manually index older news pages in our Archived News section.

Nexus Atlas is pretty Alive
Posted by: TSWolf -- 4:42 AM EST

We're busy as bees over here at Nexus Atlas even though it doesn't look like it. Most of what we've done so far is all backend.. stuff to make the site run faster and better for you. Some of the more cosmetic changes are noticeable (Esterk's new icon, Lauz as a new member, new menu.. etc etc..).

Expect some exciting new projects from Nexus Atlas in the coming months!

Here's whats up..

- NexusForums.com domain is down because Random.net is finally gone.. The name should work again shortly as directnic updates its database to the new DNS at http://www.nexusatlas.com/forums. Please use the secondary address above to get to the pages.

- The Bug Reporting Forum is setup and can be accessed via the link on the menu directly, or by simply going to NexusForums and clicking the appropriate area.

- Tonight I will be releasing smore photo reports so stay tuned!

Downtime this morning
Posted by: TSWolf -- 3:12 AM EST

As you probably noticed if yer a late night visitor, the site was down for most of the morning. Seems the Phoenix server wasn't the only telefragged server to go down. It looked as if they all did. Perhaps a power outage or some maintanence. Anywho... its back. Its up.. its running fine..

But I must do what has to be done.

Nexon Announcement - Houses..
Posted by: TSWolf -- 12:12 PM EST

Ive seen the house maps and I must say Nexon has come a long way.

About a year ago, Nexon was designing a hotel where players could rent or buy rooms to keep stuff in. Apparently it didn't work out too well and they weren't satisfied with it so they decided to start from scratch and do houses with property.

I've personally seen the houses and I think Nexon will really hit this off big if they execute it properly. The houses look nice.. Have a front yard.. several rooms.. Some even had a basement (I think). Best of luck to them on this, if they do this, I'll even wanna check it out.

OMG WORK OMGOMGOMG
Posted by: TSWolf -- 7:01 PM EST

Yes thats right. I spent the morning designing a Photo Report script.. And wow did it come out perfect in every form. I had many people test it from NexNet and Nexus Atlas and they all gave a perfect review on first run.

So I proudly present Photo Reports featuring the Strange Thing!? report. I plan to add more reports tonight and tommorow. I truly hope to have a ton up by the end of this week, but I just got Neverwinter nights and have begun planning my Nexus Mod for it (Nexus : Lost). More details on that coming soon.

For now.. have a nostalgia fest! I don't plan to post when I put up new reports. I'll do a post per day reflecting progress. So there may be more than Strange Thing up. Go check it out.

-= Special Update =- I figure I'll mention this cause of today. Anniversary Swords Year 2 Photo Report went up in honor of todays Nexus Anniversary.

AGant presents Nexuswinter Nights.
Posted by: TSWolf -- 1:07 AM EST

A personal friend of mine from Nexus past, AGant, who quit a while back, has recently purchased Neverwinter Nights and is working on a Nexus modification for it. He has completed much already and has actually inspired me to buy the game in the coming days just to work with him on it.

Once I get the info from him I will post it on the website. All with NWN who are past Nexus players or Nexus players now who want to see what Nexus was, before it became this poor excuse for a game it is now, are welcome to come join.

All parts of the game will be within legal copyright and such, so Nexon can't pull another "Cease and Desist" like they did with NF2k. Shucks eh?

Happy Anniversay ; Rant Followup
Posted by: TSWolf -- 12:59 AM EST

If you didn't know, 4 years ago today Nexus TK 3.0 was released following the most catastrophic Nexus event, the cataclysm, which can be read about in our history section. Today is honored every year with Anniversary swords and legend marks. I hope Nexon does something special again this year.

As for my rant yesterday, all my information is presented accurately and I can see the replies are shortcoming as usual. The usual crop of Anti-TS folks who have bent themselves out of shape and saved every word I've said, some of which I personally remember and regret, and felt an obligation to stick their face into something they have no concept of realizing. By taking the situation of CREDIT and WRONG INFORMATION and throwing it out of context into their own personal flame war against me.

So here's all I have to say left.. The Nexus Community is fragile and quite susceptible to good ideas. Want the community following yer hand? Make a website.. NexNet has everything.. and if they don't I still do have stored away. Want an alternative to Nexus Network? Make one.

Anyone was capable of what I did, Im shocked noone has gone far enough to do anything extraordinary and not rehashed yet. I see some prosperous failures making their way up... well.. They may actually prosper now that NexNet doesn't have working folks ;). Tell ya though, if I was around, we'd see another NexusHaven.

How many of you actually care about Nexus anymore anyway? I mean honestly. If it disappeared today, would that be it? Or do these random people from around the world who have any number of personal conflicts (which they bring into the workplace) dictate the way you play this game? The fact of the matter is, people with enough time and "anti-irl" can completely control the wave of Nexus. Regardless of their age, sex, or... sanity.. But we'll just keep our tongues firmly planted in our cheeks for the time being, knowing the collective fate of people who fight too hard for useless reasons is always the same.

I have had several webpage offers lately and am considering taking them up. So you may see smore stuff by me soon as well. And yes, some of them are paying me. so w00t.

Oh and, to those who said I shouldn't have photo reports, I appreciated the feedback in an orderly manner which some are incapable of having. The fact of the matter is, Photo Reports are an extremely important part of History, and that is what this site is all about. What good is a photo report about Leeching, or Blights Clan War, or the Strange Thing being discovered to people who come to NexNet for up to date info? Nadda.

And if this becomes a competitive sport, I might just have to get back to work on stuff ;)
