Past News
Did you miss that important news story? Do you want to read what happened while you were on vacation. Here's where to get that info!

Note: In January 2006, NexusAtlas moved to a new server and a new ISP. In that process the software that manages our news archives dropped its links. We do not know exactly why that happened nor are we able to fix it without support from someone who knows the software. Therefore, we are calling news prior to March 2006 "Archived News" and it can be accessed by the link below.

New Weapon Found!
Posted by: Nagnag -- 11:33 PM EST

Dropped by the Sa-San Angry Spirit. Thanks to xFirestormx for this information!

Exp Steal Bug & More
Posted by: Nagnag -- 9:41 PM EST

Thanks to Sonority for helping me test this. It seems that the exp bug Conro mentioned has been fixed, for now. Mug has also announced he will be fixing many graphical updates including female war dress and the feminine looking MALE "armor" graphics as well as the "garb" graphics too. We'll keep you updated.

Don't fix what isn't broken
Posted by: Conro -- 9:22 PM EST

--This is an editorial by the Editor-in-Chief of NexusAtlas--

With the recent fixes, and I use the term loosely, in this game, I take a look back at previous client updates and overhauls that have occurred.

Not since the 'Ambush bug' of 4.x has there been so many blatant problems with a client update or patch. With this recent patch, I have not only seen my character transform into a woman from the Sun armor's change from a manly physique to a widened hip, shapely bosom abomination.

Now, I could look past these minor graphical fixes, had it not been for the fixes on the only aspects of this game that even so much as keep me playing.

The 'Sleep' graphic is now giving rogues, and everyone else for that matter, trouble with player-killing. The graphic DOES NOT wear off when the spell is removed, making for confusion among all walks of life. Couple this with the inability to fix the 'Curse Identification puff of Smoke' which lingers above even invisible targets, and it makes for a useless spell. Invisible is no longer a guise for which a path can hide under, but a useless for show spell, used mostly for a good laugh.

So, I move on from Sire Pit, frustrated, and begin a hunt. To my surprise, I can't even hunt in the same method I had been, because if any visitor or curious soul dares enter the cave I'm spending my time in, any and all creatures which attract themselves to that target will instantly lock their experience award to that guest, and will continue to do so for an entire minute. If our guest is to leave the cave after realizing their 'mistake', if the creature is killed in that sixty-second span, the experience will be awarded to NO ONE.

So I log off, and come to my haven, NexusAtlas, frustrated and confused.

A topic of discussion has been opened on NexusForums for other angry patrons to vent or find a solution.

As they dig deeper...
Posted by: Conro -- 2:08 AM EST

As the ogres dig deeper, the questions become numerous.

I had spent many nights into the latest hours gathering the final essences needed to empower my Jeweled Ring of Substratum, forging it into a Floating ring of substratum.

As the ring slipped over my finger, my feet became lighter, and crossing the chasm in the cave east of Ugh's old home was effortless.

As I passed through the fresh debris left by the mighty ogres, things began to change and take shape. Nowhere could I find ogres, but rather the strange snakes and dragons found in the pit of the chasm infested these caverns. Many before me could not pass through the barriers set by these creatures, but the strength accumulated by training for endless hours allowed me to pass through each room. ((The inner caves past the Chasm range from Il san to Oh san statistics, with increasing experience and different colored snakes and dragons)).
The creatures dropped new Essences, Angry essence. 100 is the maximum that you can carry.

Upon entering the new caverns, a strange structure with impassible gates met my eyes

Further, across another chasm, was an empty room with a solitary carpet. Perhaps a place to rest?

Finding what I could, I decided to take a walk through Kugnae, when Arto told me Yuri's Seamstress had updated her models, now all wearing SetZe gowns. The strangest part was they were all carrying new weapons.

mug pays a visit!
Posted by: Songa -- 4:26 PM EST

Last night at the Nagnang Fair, several of the Buyan Ministry and other citizens were standing around
and goofing off. Suddenly, thousands of rabbits began to spawn..

We attempted to figure out what the source of this sudden increase in rabbit population was.
Perhaps rabbits learned to spawn on their own. Perhaps it was some practical joke by a Druid.
Perhaps a drunken Ranger was having a little too much fun.
But no! It was mug~!

He decided to join in on our random fun, and filled our ENTIRE booth with rabbits!
After sending a few citizens into the dark room for being bad and killing his rabbits.. mug sat with us and had a little fun.

That's right, my friends. Even mug agrees that arrows are in. So if you want to be cool, go to the left.

The SeaNymph, HaggardWitch and dark waters.
Posted by: Songa -- 4:16 PM EST

Last night, the HaggardWitch and one of the triiofa, Kurutogi, showed up on Dae Shore.

The HaggardWitch spoke about summoning the help of an unknown person, who would know the source of the waters
becoming so dark and unrelenting. It was then that the SeaNymph appeared from the murky depths..

She spoke of how the waters were dark because of all the conflict recently. And though she mentioned this several times,
the only thing she mentioned that implied how we as citizens could help fix the waters, was that Kurutogi knew. It was
mentioned briefly that the other triiofa brothers should be contacted too, but Kurutogi seemed more afraid of us than willing to help.

What does the future hold for the seas?

Thank you - our dedicated readers
Posted by: AllyGator -- 1:11 AM EST

Over the months there have been many of you who have passed along various bits of information we've used to update the site. There have been so many that I truly can't name all of the names without digging through tons of notes. I do want to thank one person in particular who wrote the widely used Tips for Greater Alliances . Moraghul has once again forwarded some information that I haven't been able to get from anyone. He's given us a complete list of solo, non-totem time experience for every creature in the Woodlands caves (Level 4). If anyone wants to build on this, we still need this information for the lower levels of Frozen Tundra and Raheem Desert. Again thank you all for helping us!

The Haggard Witch forshadows...
Posted by: Youji -- 11:55 PM EST

Tonight, the powerful HaggardWitch visited the newly regrown Tree of Reflections with Prince Kija of Nagnang.

After some reminiscing on the importance of the tree, the HaggardWitch gifted us with a cryptic look into the future:

"Tomorrow darkness will enthrall. We will be humbled by the encampment of the past."

"Captains" theme halted in Bloodlusts
Posted by: Conro -- 5:29 PM EST

The popular 'Captains' theme has been haulted until March 2nd 2007, due to a botched attempt by one player to create a team during a Captains theme Bloodlust last week.

Discussion has flamed up on the Community board, with many frequent Bloodlust attendants in an uproar over this popular theme.

As posted by Brant on the Carnage board...

As of February 16, 2007 Captains Bloodlust theme is not to be used. This is temp. and only in effect until March 2, 2007. This is due to recent problems between Hosts and Participants. Any other theme in Bloodlust is still available for use.

You can find all of the established Bloodlust Themes on this board. (Post #'s 111 and 112)

A discussion thread has been opened on NexusForums for ease of discussion about the issue, and hopefully a resolution can come to order as well.

A Happy Goodbye
Posted by: Vini -- 4:56 AM EST

It's not a surprise for many around there, specially not for the Nexus Atlas staff, but I've taken the decision of leaving Nexus The Kingdom of Winds and for the past weeks I've been testing myself if it was a real thing or if was just something I as upset with and would come back playing shortly after.

But no, I realized I really didn't enjoy Nexus anymore, for various things that changed and various problems people will never realize. I got to see stuff I really didn't wish I did and I guess that overtime I lost the will to play. So I took this decision in peace and decided that I'm leaving for good now, not sure if forever, but at least people won't hear from me in a good while now.

I'm really thankful for all the people who gave me a great time here and really thankful for all the things I learned in nexus too. Some experiences I had here I'll take for life. I learned a lot from nexus and that's the advice I give to other people. Learn from nexus, enjoy while it is fun and never forget it is just a game.

Also remember, when you leave nexus you don't take the gold coins with you, you don't take your expensive rare items with you, you don't take your Sa san stats with you, legend marks or anything of that kind. So remember what's most important here. The only things you take with you is the things you learned about yourself and about how to deal with people and also the friends you made. In this part I'm really lucky because I made really great friends and am sure I'll be taking them with me.

I thank each and every person who has given a bit of their time to make nexus a better place. People who have given up their free time to contribute because they loved this game, not because they wanted to be loved. Be careful to not confuse these two kind of people, it's hard to differenciate it.

I wish everyone well and behave you guys!

The Clan Swords are Returned!!
Posted by: Songa -- 10:02 PM EST

Tonight, during a meeting to discuss the recent events regarding the Pirates taking Clan Swords..
Princess Lasahn, and Prince Kija, along with many onlooking Primogens, Defenders, and respected Citizens
of said lands.. met the General of Han, HanXin, who visited rather unexpectedly.

..who then returned the lost Clan Swords!

He informed us that the huge explosion we all heard while the Pirates were escaping, was in fact his
army digging a tunnel into the Museum to replace the real Clan Swords with fake ones.

He then led us all into the Museum's The Shattering Display, where all of the remaining Clan Merchants
were being held. He asked us all to concentrate on the power of his sword, as he needed our help to lift the spell..

Several citizen shouted "I believe!" and concentrated on helping to lift this powerful spell layed on the Merchants.

With much concentrating, a little time, and big explosion, the spell was finally lifted!

Princess Lasahn then spoke to the citizens of the lands, promising that she would not give the Pirates
what they truly wanted.. For it would only be time before they realize the swords they have are fake..
and return to our lands in search of the real ones.

Only time will tell what will happen next!!
But, for now, the Clan Swords have been safely returned to their rightful owners.

Posted by: Sebelle -- 4:48 PM EST

A new update has been made to the item shop today, just in time for the upcoming holiday! A large array of Rose buds have been placed in stock, as well as a Sunflower...all of it sitting on your head! The Heart headbands have also been placed back in the shop, for those who missed them before.

User pages are also now being updated again! Thanks to Haemusu in game for pointing it out!

Rose buds:
The most well know symbol of love and beauty is now available for yourself or your loved one. Lucky for us we were able to sneak into the Sacred Grove and ask Hareiette to give up some of these delicate rose buds. They come in many spectacular colors! Make your day more fragrant or tell someone you care with this gentle reminder of affection.

Origin: Druids back yard

Large sunflower:
The Sunflower is sacred to sun worshipping since ancient times. Besides its mystery and bright beauty, it provides oil for healing, dyes for body painting and relief from snakebites; however, our pretty flower is for you to wear. Spread sunshine to those you meet with this simple floret.

Be sure to check these out in the item shop to get a better feel of what they will look like in game!

A safe return home
Posted by: Conro -- 5:05 PM EST

Members of the Buyan Nation of Clans, as well at the The Forsaken and Silla clans have seen a safe return of their mundanes to their halls.

It seems BlueStone, despite his disregard for life, has kept in tune to his promises, but at what cost for those giving in to his demands?

For now, all the Community can do is wait and plan for BlueStone's next attack.

Can BlueStone really forge a weapon so powerful out of the metals of the Clan Swords?

Bluestone's retort
Posted by: Conro -- 1:29 PM EST

Captain Bluestone of the Ilbon has proven his demands to be very serious.
In his several failed attempts to obtain the Clan Swords, he has proven his word to be truthful, and has killed off three clans Merchant mundanes.
"Destiny, K'urimja and Heaven's dug their workers graves, an' now
they'll be tossed overboard slowly til' none o' 'em are left.
Ya had their lives in yer hands, and yer guided our blades
into 'em ya did. Har har! Yer just like us pirates, all me
mates an' I want are yer Swords. If ya don't hand 'em over,
ya won't ever be seein' yer "friends" again."
Bluestone proclaimed, as his anger over the lack of care to his demands builds.

Within the confides of the the Koguryian Museum's room dedicated to the Shattering, a makeshift prison has been built and sealed by the Pirate crew. Inside the bodies of othe mundanes of Heavens, K'urimja and Destiny lay scattered with the workers of other clans who's fate is yet to be decided.

Primogens across the lands are scrambling to devise methods to save their workers, with some conspiring to give into the demands of Bluestone.

Wether or not these workers Silver Threads have indeed been severed for good is unclear, but what has been made clear is Bluestone's ironclad will to use the metals of the Clan Swords for his own bidding.

Greed over takes lives
Posted by: Conro -- 2:54 PM EST

((More to be added after I get home from work!))
"Help me!" I heard the scream coming from Dae shore. I frantically looked around until I noticed the cries were louder as I ran into the Museum. I hurried through the rooms until I entered the Shattering room where I was stricken with fright! What happened? Why are all these people locked up?! What can I do? My heart dropped as I noticed a few had been killed. How could the Pirates of done this to them! What is so important that they feel the need to kill innocent workers? I remembered the post I read earlier on the Chronicles of the Winds board, at first I thought it was a scare tactic but obviously I was wrong. Here is the quote taken from the board:

“Destiny, K'urimja and Heaven's dug their workers graves, an' now
they'll be tossed overboard slowly til' none o' 'em are left.
Ya had their lives in yer hands, and yer guided our blades
into 'em ya did. Har har! Yer just like us pirates, all me
mates an' I want are yer Swords. If ya don't hand 'em over,
ya won't ever be seein' yer "friends" again."

What can we do to stop this madness! Why do the Primogens refuse to give up their swords? Are their workers lives that meaningless to them?
